From the trenches, unwashed masses rise and strike with a rebel yell.

Guilt of perverse crimes, hung in a prison cell.

News of the day spread in such a way.
Positioned between the fray, fourth estate, third wave.

We always say, “Never again.” On and on, this is the last time.

Flee the scene to lessen the sting. Embarrassed to say why.

Answer the call, caged little rat, tried to squirm away, avoid the trap.
The whole world is watching you crawl.

Freedom is never free.
Splintered impartiality.
Defend the obscured.
Delusional pride
Believe me or lying eyes.

Believe in the word, spoken or overheard.
Written down without a sound.
Skin carved dreams from the underground.

Last breath upholds ideals.
Without sacrifice what would be real?
Cannot have truth without trust.
Expose decency covered in rust.

Freely broadcast the airwaves.
In exchange for moral transparency.

The earth looks so tired, sick, and pale.
Put us out of our misery.

Live for balance or die.
Trying to prove your side right.

Nine o'clock blues, misread the news.
Trust erodes, exaggeration of head explodes.

Hyperbole blown through.
